Ana M. Vanic

graduate physiotherapist

I have been involved in sports since I was young. I have 10 years of recreational tennis and 4 years of competitive skiing behind me, and since 2011 I have also been a level II ski instructor. I have seen quite a few injuries in sports and experienced some myself, which encouraged me to learn about anatomy and delve deeper into this direction. As an active athlete, I knew that my mission would be to work with people, to help them. After graduating from high school, I decided to study physiotherapy at Alma Mater Europeae in Maribor, where I graduated in 2020. During my studies, I received additional training in manual techniques, new state-of-the-art apparatus techniques, kinesiotaping, and sports massage.

My knowledge is focused primarily on orthopedic medicine, where I use, among other things, the well-known Cyriax method for treatment and diagnostics.

I have also completed training in Instrumental Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Medical Flossing, and Soft Tissue Mobilization. I also have an initial level of training in musculoskeletal ultrasound monitoring (MSC), for which I am currently undergoing additional training, which will allow me to gain more accurate insight into the results of therapy and objectively monitor the patient's progress.

I can also attribute the great importance of the positive outcome of rehabilitation in our clinic to the treatment of soft tissue injuries and diseases, as we combine all the knowledge we have gained with the latest equipment and, through proper exercise, offer the patient the best possible rehabilitation and the fastest possible return to everyday life.

Now, after a good 5 years of active work in physiotherapy, I can proudly say that I have many satisfied patients behind me who live without pain or manage it better.

“I am committed to a high standard of healthcare services and good communication with patients.”

Sanja Hadžalić

graduate physiotherapist

After completing the Secondary Medical School in Izola, my academic journey continued at Alma Mater Europaea in Maribor, where I graduated in 2018. During my studies in Physiotherapy, I also did an internship as a nurse at the Izola General Hospital, where I encountered a wide variety of pain conditions, which encouraged me to think about how to help patients even better. Therefore, I wanted to deepen my knowledge and acquire professional skills for the effective treatment of pain and injuries.

Immediately after graduating in 2018, I began my internship at the Izola Physiotherapy Institute under the professional mentorship of senior physiotherapist Anita Umek, and continued my career path there.

I have in-depth knowledge in the field of orthopedic and manual medicine (OMMT) and I perform therapies mainly according to the Cyriax method, for the treatment of soft tissue lesions of the locomotor system. I have also completed training in medical flossing, soft tissue mobilization and fascia with IASTM attachments.

I am currently also training on the topic of ultrasound monitoring of the musculoskeletal system (MSK), which will allow me to better target therapy and objectively monitor progress.

“In my practice, I treat people the way I would want to be treated – with understanding, professionalism, and respect.”
